Former Anthrax axe-slinger Dan Spitz launches DeuxMonkey, a new metal band that represents the determination to succeed and overcome. With his recent return to Anthrax for the band’s reunion cycle, Dan Spitz gained back the love once lost for his instrument. Gathering some of the best metal musicians available to infuse technical and creative expertise, Dan sought out his friend Peter Baltes, bassist for the infamous German metal band Accept… a band that Dan looked highly upon when writing and recording the riffs for the monumental Anthrax album "Among the Living." Hailing from guitar shredder extraordinaire Yngwie Malmsteen's band is Kiss fanatic sick boy Patrick Johansson on Drums. On vocals the search was on for a voice and a lifestyle that breathes, eats and sleeps "Metal". No freakin' impostors of Metal allowed. Enter Wade Black formerly of Crimson Glory and Seven Witches.
Reinventing myself is a killer feeling. I miss my fans and the stage so much it is immeasurable," exerts Spitz. After 15 years touring the world with Anthrax, Dan temporarily lost his love of playing guitar. As a result, he decided to clear his head by enrolling in the Swiss schooling to become a master watchmaker. From the loud crunches of blazing guitar amps to the silence of an extremely complicated craft, Dan has always displayed dexterity and finesse when it comes to his artistry that truly shows in his body of work. And now, once again, Mr. Spitz is back creating his unique brand of metal music to unleash on the world. As one of the original creators of thrash-metal, Dan is focused on bringing the sounds of DeuxMonkey to his many adoring fans worldwide.
