Kayla found her passion for metal and radio after joining WSOU at Seton Hall University. It was there that she knew she had to be in front of the microphone, taking any job that would keep her on the air. She went as far as becoming a traffic reporter for local NY radio stations like WABC Radio, The Breeze, ESPN Radio, K104, WHLI and has even graced the screen on FOX 5 Good Day NY and still fills in on CBS-TV local news! It was all to bide time until she found the perfect gig and it wasn't long before...
It was all to bide time until she found the perfect gig and it wasn't long before Kayla landed her job at Sirius XM.
After meeting Jose Mangin, her PD for Octane, backstage at a Sevendust/Flaw show, Kayla has been a part of the Sirius XM family since early 2002. She originally started on Hard Attack (now Liquid Metal) on the weekends, but has been holding down Octane everyday for years! She is the longest reigning jock in Octane's history and you can hear Kayla on Octane 20/48 noon to 6pm ET Mon-Fri and 3-9pm ET on weekends.
After spending 3 year on Classic Rewind, SiriusXM has moved her to The Boneyard to bring you the hard & heavy classic rock. You can hear Kayla there everyday from 6am to noon ET. And to add more to her plate, she hosts a Christian rock show called The Message Amped 66/32 Saturday nights at 11pm ET. And like many of us, you can find SiriusKayla on Facebook & Twitter.
Working at Sirius XM has truly been a dream come true for Kayla and is humbled by the love and support of her listeners.
