If you enjoyed seeing an animated Dave Mustaine and Megadeth in the Cartoon Network series Duck Dodgers, then you’re already a fan of Mark’s work. Mark wrote and helped produce the now legendary Duck Dodgers episodes featuring Dave – easily a career high point for both.

Mark Banker began his writing career with The Onion while he was a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Shortly after graduating in 1995, Mark signed with United Talent Agency and moved to Los Angeles (in a maroon ’88 Honda Accord hatchback with 100K+ miles on it) to write amusing (in theory) TV shows and movies.
How’d that work out for him? Not too bad actually. In the years since, Mark has had the good fortune to work on (and be paid for) a wide variety of TV and movie projects – some awesome, some less so, some that have aired and some, tragically, that have not. Highlights of Mark’s produced credits include Space Ghost Coast to Coast (Cartoon Network), Spin City (ABC), Crank Yankers (Comedy Central), The Osbournes (MTV), Duck Dodgers (Cartoon Network), Danny Phantom (Nickelodeon), The Emperor’s New School (Disney Channel) and Squirrel Boy (Cartoon Network).
Mark is currently developing/juggling a host of TV and film projects. He recently completed the script for a passion project at Warner Brothers - an animated feature remake of his favorite childhood cartoon, Thundarr the Barbarian. He also just finished the feature script Fantasy Football, as well as the pilot script Dormistory for Comedy Central. Mark is now scripting two animated pilots for Disney, Beastkeeper and Game Show Earth, and an episode of the upcoming animated series Scooby Doo – Mystery Inc. for Cartoon Network.
In addition to his friendship with Dave Mustaine, Mark has at least one more interesting (in theory) connection to the metal world worth mentioning here. Years ago, Mark met his wife with the gracious help of Anthrax’s Frank Bello, the best wingman Mark ever had.
Mark now lives in Sherman Oaks, CA with his beautiful wife Tisha, their two clinically insane chihuahuas, Fred and Bella, and their soon to be born first child who is, according to the latest ultrasound, a tiny, bald girl.
