Most are familiar with Mike Stone as the former guitar player for the Seattle hard-rock band Queensrÿche, who he performed, recorded and co-wrote with for the past eight years. But people seldom know that Mike Stone has been playing guitar, creating music and riding motorcycles since he was eight-years-old. Although he is best known as a veteran guitarist and vocalist, Mike is also a seasoned bassist (electric and upright), banjoist, and ukulele master (and has been referred to as the Don Ho of Wisconsin!)
Throughout most of 2009 Stone has been focusing his efforts on his latest tour de force, the much talked about cutting-edge heavy rock band SpeedX! The band, formed by Stone (guitar/vox) with gutiarist Nick Catanese, also features veteran band members Mike Froege (drums), Josh Sattler (bass) and Jason Fowler (lead vox), who all contributed to recording their forthcoming debut CD recorded at the Open Sky Studios in Atlanta, Georgia and slated for release in late 2009.
